How obligated are we to the Running Track?

Ok I understand that we have a 99 year lease but a thought crossed my mind after we left home and had not even arrived at the kharsi
What if it transpired to be our Stadio delle Alpi, we all copped the hump and fucked it off, as Juve fans did with theirs?
So by extending the current owners plan, they sell to a foreigner with money - then what/
What if they decide its time to build and relocate their club to a proper and owned football stadium? Can they do that? Sure I accept we have to stand the £2.5m year or what ever it is but could we actually leave it or are we obligated to play there for 99 years?

It cost 290£ million to convert it to what it is today, there is no way the tax payer paying for another conversion, and our owners won't either...
Doubt if a new owner would either, as long as the LLDC have and own it, it will look like it is.
I'm in engineering, been loads of places, and yeah you can do a better conversation for football, but it would cost more than to build a new stadium.. it won't get down..
You can take off a few of the highest tiers, and have them motored and able to move up, and "square" off the retractable seating... anything is possible and do-able..
But its to expensive, you can imagine the cost of how we'd want it to the £290 million spent on it converting it to what we don't.
Trouble is even if we "could" (but won't) be able to take away the running track, you still jave to build it in an oval shaped ground..
To much money..
Like buying a round house, and wanting it to be square and not round, the conversion costs aren't worth the outcome unless you have untold money to throw at it..
Its why we buy square houses, because thats what's built..

Gold0 saying on Twitter that redevelopment at Upton Park was possible after all, but would have been opposed by local businesses and been 'financially disasterous' after previously stating that it was impossbible. Now being asked for proof, ref local biz's and figures etc. Being told that he is a liar and can't be believed, etc.

Yeah it's basically about the RAKE
You can do things to sort out the gaps, look up the Minerao (in Minas Gerais in Brazil) before and after pictures on Google. They fixed that but there's still a gap between the stands and pitch at the centre circle.

You would have to dig down for the seats to be parallel corner to corner with the pitch, putting some of the extra seats well below pitch level.

The defeat probably had nothing to do with the new stadium.
Tell you what though, I am more wound up by the cunty stadium move than I am by the football though.
I have seen West Ham capitulate more times than I care to remember. But since when has supporting West Ham been about success?
The existential problem here is that a substantial part of our fanbase, our history, is not wanted by our club, not wanted by the stadium operators and not wanted by those businesses around the Iconic, Uefa Category Four Stadium.
That vibe is, by hook or by crook, going to permeate its way though to results as surely as the Bond Scheme protests did.

I too am happy with view of the pitch ... But fully agree about waste of space between stands and pitch.
Ps. Surely the word is 'obliged'?

SAme for me Attwood, decent view from my seat but the gaps particularly at side halfway line are huge.

I've got to say the view from my seat at the front of the bobby moore upper is not bad and it certainly isn't Subbuteo on the back lawn etc. but the pitch as an island in that sea of luminous green astro turf is seriously weird!

I don't fully understand it either Attwwood, something to do with the rake probably as to why the lower tier is curved. Looks shit to me, and prob because they cheapskates didn't want to explore any option that would cost more money.

sorry if this has been raised/answered on this or another thread but why can't the other 3 stands be a continuous tier like the east, without the massive gaps between upper and lower?
again, at the risk of sounding even more stupid and missing the obvious answer why is the seating curved to mirror the running track rather than 'squared off' parallel with the pitch?

It was clear to many before the Olympic Stadium was even built that it should be designed to convert to football afterwards and the warm-up track that was alongside it could be converted to a 30,000 capacity stadium or Crystal Palace could get a complete re-construction and made to look amazing.
Everybody in Manchester agreed that the Commonwealth Games stadium was to be designed to easily convert to football afterwards.
But Seb Coe and Tessa Jowell are both experts in sports stadium construction - he was a couple of gold medals when Russia and U.S.A didn't compete in each others Olympics in Moscow 1980 and Los Angeles 1984 - and Tessa Jowell was a barrister with a very safe Labour seat in South London.
Great legacy they have left us with...legends in their own lunchbreak

When you look at the Etihad pre Man City it just goes to show how they've made a decent football stadium from it. But then they didn't have to keep the running track.

I've got a far better view than I had at UP. And by some strange quirk of being on the corner, I have enough space either side of me that you could actually fit an extra seat on both sides. Short walk to the party deck, and a steward who seems to have no problem with beer being taken to the seats. I'm fine with it.

Which will NEVER get better so get used or move on for a happy clappy div who likes it for a season then actually gets in to football and realises they have a clue what's going on so goes somewhere else.
It's what we voted for, like we voted to desecrate the badge too.
